Wayne's Fundraising Aim For Dougie Mac

The Wheatsheaf public house in Northwood, are holding a Jubilee-themed fundraising day, to raise funds for Douglas Macmillan Hospice.


Organiser Wayne Swindail is aiming to raise £1000 from the day, with plenty on offer for people of all ages.


"Most people in the local area have known someone who has had care at the Dougie Mac. A friend of mine recently passed away in the Hospice, so we all decided to doing something," he said.


"There will be plenty going on, with a large raffle, a barbeque, a DJ and a singer, face painting for the kids."


Raffle prizes will include a signed Stoke City shirt, fishing club memberships, a large bottle of Bollingers, prizes from Wedgwood, Emma Bridgewater and Waterworld.


The all-day event starts at 2pm, with children allowed up until 6pm. It will carry on from 6pm until late.


It is sponsored by the Wheatsheaf and Debenhams, in conjunction with a shop refit in Hanley Shopping Centre.
