Olympic Torch Visits Dougie Mac

The Olympic Ambassador for the West Midlands paid a visit to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice this afternoon, with the Olympic torch.

Angela Smith, who is a former World champion in Squash, came to visit the In-Patient Unit and Day Therapy Units.

She talked to staff and patients and let people have their pictures taken with it.

“I thought that it would be nice for people less fortunate than myself to see the torch first hand," Angela said.

"The Dougie Mac is such a fantastic place , the staff do such a fantastic job and I hope the visit has brought a little happiness to the patients lives.”

Angela was one of the official Olympic torchbearers when the Olympic flame visited Stoke at the end of May.
