Welcome to Education

The Education and Learning Centre at the Douglas Macmillan Hospice provides education and training to facilitate evidence-based practice, supporting the local health and social care economy. The Education team is committed to the development of a workforce that understands the importance of delivering effective and appropriate palliative and end of life care.

All of our educational courses and programmes are designed to increase the confidence and competence of health and social care practitioners to positively influence their individual practice to enhance the patient and family experience.

Education Courses

Our Masters, Degree, Diploma and Certificate Awards in palliative and end of life care are accredited by the University of Wolverhampton. Additionally we offer a Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) programme for health and social care practitioners in partnership with South Staffordshire Further Education College. All of these are delivered at the Douglas Macmillan Hospice Education and Learning Centre.

Study Day Programmes

We offer a comprehensive range of study days for health and social care practitioners who wish to enhance their knowledge in palliative and end of life care.

These study days are developed in response to National Guidelines, Government Policy and evidence-based practice.

Ideally situated with easy access to the M6 and A50 we provide an ideal location for meetings and events. Facilities include:
