Support Our Shops

The first Dougie Mac Shop was opened in December 1994. It was run completely by volunteers and looked very different to the image we have established today.

Today we are proud to have 20 Dougie Mac shops spread across North Staffordshire, including specialised shops such as Home 2 Home, Wedding Dreams, Mini Mac and a huge Warehouse based in Burslem.

Our shops offer great savings on fantastic items alongside customer service of the highest standard. But most importantly our shops make a significant contribution every year to the funding of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, supporting the care that it provides.

Quality goods at quality prices, to provide quality care.

Our shops rely on the generous donations of pre-loved goods from the public all year around in generating the funds essential to the hospice.

To drop off some donations at our shops please see our shop location list to find your nearest shop and their opening hours. Most of our stores have parking available and our staff and volunteers are always grateful to receive your donations. Many of our stores are also now open on Sundays from 10.00 to 16.00.

Since the opening of our Warehouse in Burslem we have been able to offer free collection of your donations as well as a house clearance service. All we ask is that the items are in sellable condition and to comply with trading standards that all soft furnishings have a fire label attached.

To find out more please contact our Warehouse team on 01782 827690 or email retail@dmhospice.org.uk. We will be happy to arrange a collection or clearance date with you at our first opportunity, within our catchment area.

Sadly we cannot always accept or sell everything that has been donated due to safety and legal reasons.

We can make 25% more from your donation… and it won’t cost you a penny!

Using Gift Aid means that for every £1 raised from the sale of the items you donate to us, the Douglas Macmillan Hospice can claim an extra 25p from the tax you pay for the current tax year.

Simply sign up in store when you donate with us to help us make the most from your donation.

Volunteering is a great way to develop your skills, meet new people and work as part of an enthusiastic team all dedicated to raising funds for Douglas Macmillan Hospice.

All of our shops depend on volunteers, which enable us to keep our costs to a minimum so that the maximum goes directly towards funding patient care.

Unfortunately, there are some items we can’t accept due to health and safety and legal reasons.
