Our aim is to promote comprehensive care for those with progressive,
advanced disease and a limited life expectancy in order that they
may achieve the best possible quality of life.
Hospice Philosophy The Hospice Philosophy is one that aspires to maintain the optimum
quality of life by providing a caring, supportive environment,
either at home or in warm, homely surroundings, permitting independence
for as long as possible.
The intention is to relieve the physical, emotional, social and
spiritual suffering of all our patients, whilst respecting their
individuality and choice.
The Hospice concept is to ensure that the last stage of an incurable
illness becomes a shared journey, helping the patient to die peacefully
with dignity and without anguish by relieving pain and other distressing
symptoms.
The provision of care recognises and meets the needs of relatives
and involves professional advice and support to the patient, his
family and friends, carers and staff.
The Philosophy includes a commitment to training and education
and sharing our expertise with others.
