Linda Lehane, who has been supporting Douglas Macmillan Hospice for almost 20 years, has announced her latest fundraiser a sponsored walk and family fun day taking place at Hotel Rudyard in Leek on Sunday 30th August.
The walk gets under way at 11am and will be followed by a number of activities including a beer festival, a carvery, a hog roast, live jazz sessions and the use of a tea room.
Linda, from Newcastle under Lyme, began her fundraising journey in 1996 after her mother Patrica Cartlidge was diagnosed with cancer and was cared for by the Hospice.
She has since raised more than £160,000 for the Blurton-based Hospice and been nominated for The Sentinel’s Our Heroes awards in the Charity Champion Category.
Suzi Smith, Head of Corporate Fundraising & Events commented,
“We’re delighted to have Linda’s support and wish her luck with the Sponsored Walk and Family Fun Day on what promises to be a day to remember.
“Dedicated fundraisers like Linda are so inspirational and we cannot thank her for her continued support.
“All monies raised will help the Hospice continue to care for adults in North Staffordshire facing all life limiting conditions.”
