An army of 50 staff from Newcastle under Lyme College will take on the Wild Warrior mud run on Saturday 1st October, to raise money for Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
The run which gives participants the option of a 5k or 10k distance takes place at Wild Park in Derbyshire.
Newcastle under Lyme College is celebrating its 50th Anniversary, and the staff wanted to commemorate this special milestone by supporting their local hospice.
Dan Thomas, Marketing & PR Officer at Newcastle under Lyme College commented,
“We’re celebrating our 50th anniversary and all wanted to set ourselves a charity challenge as part of our celebrations.
“There are a number of our staff who have benefitted from the support of the Dougie Mac, and we’ve also had previous members of staff who have used the hospice services.
“It’s a fantastic charity and we’re very proud to be supporting it.”
Suzi Smith, Corporate Fundraising & Events Head added,
“We can’t thank the staff from Newcastle under Lyme College enough for their continued support and for taking on such a mammoth challenge.
“All monies raised from the Wild Warrior will help the hospice to support local patients and their families facing a life limiting illness.”
The fundraisers from Newcastle under Lyme College are hoping to raise £2,500 from the Wild Warrior run. You can donate to their JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/nulcollege.
