Our Dougie Mac Choir teamed up with the City of Stoke-on-Trent Male Voice Choir to put on a wonderful concert recently, raising a magnificent £2,941 for the hospice!
The event, in association with Wolstanton Rotary Club, attracted an audience of over 400 people who enjoyed an evening of songs sung by both choirs.
Vernon Wilson from the Rotary Club said;
“We are extremely proud to have helped with this most excellent concert that has generated these much needed funds for the Dougie Mac. The Concert itself was a fabulous event; it exceeded all our expectations and we thank the many organisations who sponsored the event and the people who helped in the organisation.”
Bob Slinn, Musical Director of the City of Stoke-on-Trent Male Voice Choir, said;
“We were thrilled to have had the opportunity to join the Dougie Mac Choir in a powerful and emotive concert of the most marvellous choral singing and to have joined the Wolstanton Rotary Club in raising such a substantial amount of money for one of the most deserving charities in North Staffordshire.”
It’s thanks to the generous supporters in our local community taking part in fantastic fundraising initiatives like this that we are able to raise the funds that allow the Dougie Mac hospice to continue providing its exceptional levels of care for both patients and families.
We’re always pleased to welcome new members to the Dougie Mac choir – the more the merrier! There’s no audition and no previous experience required; just a joy of singing!
