Staff from local B&Q stores, including Etruria and Meir Park, recently joined forces to regenerate the gardens of Dougie Mac.
Volunteering their time over a three-week period, the team played a big part in transforming the gardens by decorating the area, laying new paving and planting greenery.
Louise Eagle, Head of Volunteer Resources and Community Engagement at Dougie Mac, said:
“It’s such a relaxing and bright space now. It’s great that both our patients and staff have benefitted from its improvement. The B&Q team were great, and their help was invaluable.”
Chris Davies, an employee of the Meir Park store, said:
“Supporting a local charity is so rewarding. The team at Dougie Mac welcomed us with open arms and we were all fully immersed with the project. The staff and volunteers at the hospice give everything to our local community, so it was nice to give something back.”
