Milestone Award Winners intu Potteries accept their Dougie Mac Business Award

Dougie Mac Recognises Corporate Excellence

Companies that have gone the extra mile to support the Dougie Mac over the last 12 months were recognised by the hospice’s annual Business Awards, with a number of companies being presented with accolades in recognition of their dedication and commitment.

Unfortunately, the ceremony planned for the evening of Thursday March 1st 2018 at Uttoxeter Racecourse had to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, but the awards still went ahead virtually via Dougie Mac’s twitter profile, with the Fundraising team battling the elements to make deliveries of awards to the deserving winners throughout the day.

This year’s Dougie Mac Business Awards included a series of new awards such as Commercial Fundraising Excellence, Contributions to Volunteering and a Supplier Excellence Award. The evening also included the presentations of the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Corporate Partnership awards.

Companies that raised between £5,000 and £9,999 in 2017 were awarded the bronze award; silver awards went to those who raised £10,000 to £14,999; gold was awarded to organisations that generated £15,000 to £19,999 while platinum awards were presented to those who contributed £20,000 or more.

The hospice also recognised companies including The Hanley Economic, KMF Group, Churchill China, Blue Diamond Garden Centres, intu Potteries, Geens Chartered Accountants and Stoke City Football Club, by bestowing Milestone Awards for lifetime contributions of over £100,000.

Suzi Smith, Head of Corporate Fundraising and Events said;

“We are truly grateful to the support of our business community for their continued fundraising endeavours. The support of local businesses is vital in helping the hospice increase the number of local people who can benefit from the care provided by our specialist nurses, staff and volunteers.

The awards are just a small way for the hospice to show how much we appreciate their support, to showcase their fundraising and to platform the many ways in which businesses can support the hospice in future.”
