Dougie Mac is offering supporters the chance to win big this summer with a top prize of £5,000 up for grabs as part of the annual Bonanza Raffle that launches today.
The hospice is aiming to raise more than last year’s Bonanza Raffle which totalled £65,888 for patient care.
A supporter of Dougie Mac whose dad was cared for by the Hospice at Home team, is backing this year’s raffle.
Richard Caddy from Great Haywood, and his family were supported by Dougie Mac’s Hospice at Home team when Winston, better known as Fred who had been living with Parkinson’s and Dementia, began to deteriorate.
Richard Caddy commented,
“As a family we knew we wanted him to spend the end of his life at home and Dougie Mac helped to fulfil our wishes. Within a matter of hours we had round-the-clock-care for Dad which helped to ensure Dad’s clinical needs were met and he was as comfortable as possible.
The team quickly became so close to my family, providing invaluable support and advising us on what to expect and when.
Dougie Mac were instrumental in ensuring Dad had the best end-of-life care possible and did so much to relieve the pressure in his final days. We are incredibly thankful.”
Donna Adams, Lottery Head commented,
“We’d like to thank Richard for sharing his story and for supporting this year’s Bonanza Raffle.
“All monies raised will help Dougie Mac continue to care for local people and their families facing a life limiting illness.”
