Dougie Mac is proud to be one of the associated charities of the Potters ‘Arf Marathon and is urging runners to sign up and support in this year’s race which takes place on Sunday 10th June 2018, departing and finishing in Hanley town centre.
The event, sponsored by Hanley Economic Building Society, is the highlight of the local running calendar and also a great way to raise funds for the Blurton-based Hospice.
Last year alone, participants opting to take part to support Dougie Mac raised over £10,000 for the hospice and since being one of the nominated charities for the event, over £230,000 to help provide free end of life care in the local community.
The well marshalled race receives excellent spectator support, sports a great atmosphere around the course and encourages all abilities to take part, incorporating walk and relay team entrants to the race, as well as a junior fun run around the city centre for under 15 year olds.
Suzi Smith, Head of Corporate Fundraising and Events, commented:
“Dougie Mac always receives amazing support from the local running community and we’re hoping this will continue this year.
“We wish everyone taking part the best of luck and thank all participants for their support.
“All monies raised from the Potters ‘Arf will help the Hospice continue to care for local adults in North Staffordshire facing life-limiting conditions.”
To register for this year’s Potters ‘Arf please visit www.potters-arf.co.uk. The deadline for registering is Friday 8th June 2018.
All finishers will receive a technical t-shirt, medal and goody bag with runners finishing within two hours receiving a special time bonus medal.
Once again, all Dougie Mac runners will be able to ‘Lace it up’ and receive free yellow shoe laces to raise awareness of the work the hospice does, thanks to New Balance.
