Dougie Mac has launched its annual Christmas Poster Campaign where local businesses, schools and individuals are encouraged to sign the Christmas Poster and make a donation instead of sending Christmas cards.
Last year the Dougie Mac Christmas Campaign raised over £21,000, thanks to supporters who chose to sign the Christmas poster, organise their own Christmas fundraising event such as bake sales and Christmas jumper days, or who sent donations instead of cards or gifts.
Dougie Mac relies on donations over the festive period in order to offer much needed support to patients and their families. This year, the hospice catering team will prepare over 50 Christmas dinners for patients and their families over the festive season and the 24 hour advice line will continue to be manned throughout the holidays to give patients, family members, carers and healthcare professional’s advice as and when required.
Suzi Archer, Head of Corporate Fundraising and Events, commented:
“This year’s Christmas Poster features Doug the Reindeer so we’re asking as many local people as possible to ‘Be a Deer’ and join a campaign that is a quick and easy way to support the hospice this Christmas.
“Businesses can request one of our festive fundraising packs to make fundraising as simple as possible.
“Every penny helps us to provide exceptional care to local families facing life limiting illnesses this Christmas.”
UK tax payers also urged to gift aid their donations, meaning the charity gain an extra 25% on top of the value of the donation, at no extra cost to the donator.
