This morning, the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Lillian Dodd, cut the ribbon to signify the Grand Opening of the newly relocated Dougie Mac shop in Stoke. The Lord Mayor is also a keen supporter of Dougie Mac, previously volunteering in the hospice’s Hanford shop.
Having outgrown its old premises, the shop is now located in a larger and more suitable premises on London Road, that boasts easy accessibility for supporters to drop off their donations.
The new shop also offers a broader range of items, including furniture and homeware, as well as extended opening hours; from 9am – 5pm on Mondays to Saturdays and from 10am – 4pm on Sundays.
Liz Clarke, Head of Retail, said;
“We were delighted to be presented with this fantastic opportunity for Dougie Mac to remain very prominent on this busy street in Stoke.
“Our new shop will provide our local community with an even wider range of quality products from clothing to furniture, from bric-a brac to books, whilst maintaining our well renowned low cost prices.
“I would like to thank all members of staff and volunteers who have worked tirelessly on this new venture to ensure that the Dougie Mac remains a friendly face in the town of Stoke. The whole team are committed to providing local people with a unique charity shopping experience, whilst ensuring we generate funds to support the excellent end of life care that so many local families have come to rely on across North Staffordshire.”
