Dougie Mac Introduces ‘New Year, New You?’ Fundraiser For January

As the New Year approaches, Dougie Mac supporters are being encouraged to ‘jump-start their January’ and turn their ‘New Year, New Me’ attempts into a fundraiser for the hospice.

Individuals thinking about trying something new or taking up a New Year’s Resolution next month are asked to consider raising funds for their local hospice. Collecting sponsorship motivates accountability for goals throughout the New Year, whether that’s ditching a favourite treat, trying ‘Dry January’, giving up a habit or taking on a physical challenge.

26 year old Dougie Mac Supporter Jess pledges to commute to her workplace via bicycle to raise vital funds for the hospice.

“It will be a challenge to get out of bed earlier and to pedal in the January cold but knowing I am doing it to support the amazing staff and volunteers and to ensure they can continue to provide exceptional care to each and every patient and their loved ones is what will drive me to achieve my fundraising goals!”

Rachel Jones, Fundraising Manager said:

“New Year is an important time of the year for a lot of people who are aiming to adopt more healthy lifestyles and ditch bad habits. Everyone needs a little moral support so why not ask your friends and family to support you as you take on your own personal challenge.

“Every penny raised helps the hospice to continue to provide the exceptional care for which it is renowned, to over 3,000 patients with life-limiting illnesses per year, plus their families.”
