While we depend on our retail shops to generate vital hospice funds, we will not be opening any of our stores until early July as we are busy taking steps to ensure everyone can Work Safely, Shop Safely and Donate Safely.
In the meantime, we are encouraging our supporters to Sort, Save and Support to make sure our shelves are fully stocked for when we are able to welcome back our eager and loyal customers. If you are planning a sort out and find any suitable items you wish to donate, please save them and support your local hospice by dropping off your goods at our shops once we have reopened.
We are also asking supporters to be mindful and avoid leaving donations outside our stores. We can only accept your donation once we have re-opened and set up specific donation points. This will all help to minimise the risk of infection and contribute to helping us achieve our Donate Safely mission.
Now more than ever, we need the support of our local community when our shops reopen. 1 bag of donations roughly equates to £40 which will help us to continue to care for our patients by providing vital funds for medical supplies, specialist staff and equipment.
Liz Clarke, Head of Retail at Dougie Mac said “We must uphold the duty of care we have for the well-being of our staff, volunteers and customers. We’re busy making sure that our shops are the safest they can be before we reopen.
“Our supporters consistently donate quality items and we encourage others to support what we hope will be a very successful return to retail. We want to thank everyone for their patience during this time and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in store soon. ”
