Nine year old, Seth has ran more than a marathon over the last 29 days to raise funds to enable Dougie Mac to continue to provide our 24 hour palliative care.
Determined to use current restrictions productively; Seth decided to run a mile a day as part of his permitted daily exercise in memory of his Uncle Ian who was supported by Dougie Mac during his final few days. Through generous donations, Seth has currently raised over £800 for the hospice.
Seth said: “I wanted to do something to raise money for Dougie Mac as they helped my Uncle Ian. I love running so thought this would be a really good idea”
Seth battled torrential rain as well as scorching temperatures over the course of his challenge but continued on tenaciously. Seth’s penultimate run was extra special as it coincided with what would have been Ian’s birthday.
Mum, Claire has been keeping Seth’s supporters informed on his progress by sharing daily photographs of Seth in action on their dedicated Facebook page “Seth’s Running Page for Dougie Mac”
Claire said: “I’m very proud of Seth, he sufferers with asthma but he was very determined to complete the runs; even running in some extreme weather conditions!”
We are so grateful to Seth for his effort and determination in supporting us. If you’d like to show Seth some support, there’s still time to sponsor him! Just visit his fundraising page- https://bit.ly/3fkWLya
