Talented author, Kathy Tallentire has donated £364 from sales of her first children’s book, Nana Duck in memory of her own Nana, Nellie Williams.
The illustrated picture book; Nana Duck explores and celebrates the relationship between grandparents and their grandchildren. Set in North Staffordshire and including tales of canals, oatcakes and our favourite local saying; “ay up duck”, Nana Duck is sure to strike a chord with those familiar with the area.
Kathy said: “My Nana was a very important part of my life when I was younger. She often looked after me before or after school while my parents were at work. She taught me to play cards and we spent many hours playing games. As my story was about a little girl and her Nana, I decided to use it to generate some funds for Dougie Mac in memory of my Nana. It is a long time since she was cared for by Dougie Mac but as a family we always remember the support we received.”
Without the generosity of local supporters like Kathy; we would not be able to maintain our excellent palliative care services.
