Carers Support Service
The Carers Support Service provides support and encouragement for carers known to Dougie Mac. We support those who are caring for loved ones and friends in the last twelve months of life. We signpost carers to the right places, support and guidance to obtain the help you may need to continue in your caring role.
We help carers have a voice
The Carers Support Service also runs the ‘Buddy Scheme’, which allows trained volunteers to provide emotional and practical support to help people to care.
To find out more about the ‘Buddy Scheme’ please call Carers Co-Ordinator Pat Hamilton on 01782 344300 or click here to download our information booklet.
Carers Support Group
The Carers Support Group is for anyone caring for someone with a life limiting illness who is receiving support from the Hospice.
We hope that the group will provide the opportunity for carers to talk about their own needs and offer practical information and support. It will also offer the chance to meet other carers and share concerns and feelings.
Our Carers Support Group meets on the second Wednesday of each month between 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Please call Carers Co-ordinator Pat Hamilton on 01782 344300 for more information.
